Paul She, Practising Director of Mazars Hong Kong as well as the Deputy Chairman of the Qualification and Examinations Board of the HKICPA, was one of the adjudicators for the 2017-2018 HKICPA Accounting and Business Management Case Competition. The Competition and the Award Ceremony was held on 28 April 2018 at the HKICPA Auditorium. This year, there were more than 470 teams with 1,762 students from around 150 secondary schools in Hong Kong participated in the competition.

Organised by the HKICPA, the competition is designed to bring together students in accounting and business to investigate and analyse a specific business case for a corporation. Through participating in the competition, students are able to sharpen a broad range of skills including business research, analysis, logical thinking, time management, and oral presentation.

As one of the judges this year, Paul thought all the participating teams have demonstrated that they have the ability to observe and analyse the financial and operational performance of a business and to give comprehensive consideration to many aspects of the business. “This competition was also a good way for the students to understand that having good presentation skills and being capable to convey messages clearly are all the more crucial to convince their audiences to believe that their proposed business strategies are feasible.”, Paul noted.
