Mazars Hong Kong has been appointed as auditor of the HKICPA

Mazars Hong Kong was invited by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("HKICPA" or "Institute") to submit a proposal for consideration. Following an interview by the Institute's Audit Committee, Mazars Hong Kong was informed that it would be proposed as auditor at the Institute's forthcoming Annual General Meeting of members. The appointment was formally approved at the meeting held on 11 December 2009.

The HKICPA is the only body authorised by law to register and grant practising certificates to certified public accountants in Hong Kong. The Institute evolved from the Hong Kong Society of Accountants, which was established on 1 January 1973. The Institute operates under the Professional Accountants Ordinance and works in the public interest and has responsibility for regulating and promoting efficient accounting practices in Hong Kong to safeguard its leadership as an international financial centre.
