November 2020 - Abolition of the Doubled Stamp Duty (DSD) on non-residential property

The Government considers now the right time to abolish the Doubled Stamp Duty (DSD) imposed on non-residential properties.

The Chief Executive Carrie Lam said in her 2020 Policy Address delivered earlier today (25 November 2020) that she had requested the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau (FSTB) to review the Doubled Stamp Duty (DSD) introduced in 2013 as a demand-side management measure to rein in the soaring prices of non-residential properties.
