EIU Human Rights Asia Launch Event on 13 May 2015

The event “Asia Launch of The Economist Intelligence Unit report: The road from principles to practice: challenges for business in respecting human rights” was held last Wednesday, 13 May 2015 at the CUHK Graduate Law Centre.

The event proved to be an overwhelming success with over 120 leading barristers, lawyers, judges, bankers, senior business executives from listed companies, SFC, HKEx, NGOs, leading industry representatives, consulate generals from different countries, etc in attendance at the jam-packed event. 

The results of the survey that formed the basis of the report was presented by Laurel West, Director of EIU Asia, followed by a short discussion of the key themes by a panel including Stephen Weatherseed, Managing Director of Mazars, Hong Kong, and Prof. Mimi Zou, Associate Director (China Programme) of the Centre for Rights and Justice, CUHK, a specialist in labour law in Asia.. The event was organized with a reception sponsored by Mazars Hong Kong and allowed all participants an invaluable opportunity for networking.
